Among the Nereids was Esolls, who was known to embody tranquility and quiet strength. Tonight she sat with her eyes brimming with tears as she clutched a faded love note in her hand. It had been written by Apostolo, who she had secretly loved for years. His words, once vibrant with passion, now seemed fragile, echoing the fleeting nature of human lives.
"Dearest Esolls," the note began, "If ever the ocean stills, if ever the moon forgets her place in the heavens, know that my heart will still call for you."
Although Esolls knew Apostolo was mortal, she and her sisters still felt his absence as a gaping wound.
