My name is Neoma aka: NUUMUUN. I’m named after the new moon to remind me of the cycles of life, deep feeling, and all the importance of darkness. Growing up around campfires and going to my dad’s local gigs, music has always been a part of my life and I’m inspired by a plethora of genres, primarily Indie and Appalachian Folk and Rock. I believe art in all its forms has the ability to nurture people to heal and grow. For me, music has shown me the depth of my power and femininity, and teaches me every day how to harness it. It’s something I feel called to share. As you listen, I hope this music brings you power, peace, and release. No matter what that may look like.

I'd love to learn more about you. I'll share more insider information and special offers.  I invite you to join me on this adventure.

Heaven Called me Down Below

I'll Forgive your youth,

Your insecurity,

But I won't forgive what the world

has made you do to me

Don't deny the truth

of what men seek

I'm a woman still

and yet, I am free

From The Nereids

"The Mourning After"

The earth wept with me
the mourning after you
The window saw clearly
before I got the view

This dark, counter glow
of paper cuts
from your love notes

Mother and father
still write to ask how you are
Their wounded daughter writes
secrets of her scars

Teeth by the handful
in broken porcelain dreams
Birds by the mouthful
and silent screams

Went home to the sands
the wind speckled me dry
I said "Momma I loved a man"
and my mother told me to cry

She held me like a martyr
waves mending my sores
I tried to breath underwater
until I couldn't anymore

Burn away this home I made
Far away the war became
We were ghosts until today
It held me close and begged me to stay

A doe with the daisies
a doe on the side of the road
Her mind getting lazy
A world that's deaf to her moans
She waited, dreadfully
for him to put an end to her misery

Burn away this home I made
Far away the war became
We were ghosts until today
It held me close and begged me to stay

and the city keeps spinning
as we're dancing alone
and all the music getting real...
slow
